The Shape of Things Crafts Project

THE SHAPE OF THINGS (TSOT) which is supported by Arts Council England explores the relevance and relationship of contemporary crafts to national identity; reflecting the intercultural nature of British Society and its connection with global cultures through a series of exhibitions, installations, talks, demonstrations and educational workshops from 2010 to 2011.   Eight Artists who work with crafts media have been awarded bursaries by TSOT to produce new work.  Their diverse and distinctive interpretations will express the relevance of crafts to national identity and contribution of a valuable voice within the Contemporary Crafts scene. The artists are working in partnership with curators at venues across the UK to produce new work for an exhibition or installation which will showcase from 2010-2011.
